Class- Week 4 (1/28 - 2/1)

Week 4

This week in class we discussed the two following questions:

  1. How do/did family social classes affect your goals, aspirations, and outlooks?
  2. Does the social class affect a family’s ability to accomplish its purpose?

The class had a great discussion and my new friend and I talked about our own family situations and how they have affected us now. We determined that, although it is harder for some people to accomplish goals and such because of the setbacks due to their social and economic status, it is possible for them to be and do all that they desire to. Some have a greater advantage than others, but the family is always able to accomplish its purpose if the members are working towards reaching their potential together.

We are all given different things in this life. I think that the thing that matters most to Heavenly Father is what we do with those things which we are given- how well we overcome our challenges and what we are able to accomplish with our tools. All families are different, but they all have the potential to become great through overcoming their different obstacles.

In my own family, it has been difficult for me to get to where I am today due to my parents lack of economic resources, however I have gotten here and have developed a strong work ethic in doing so. I am thankful for the trials that we have had to pass though because they have helped us to grow stronger.
